Amber lens on mirror replaceable?
I have a 06 F-350 that has a broken amber lens on the passenger mirror. Does anyone know if the lens is available and the replacement procedure for it? Looks like a glue in.<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com

Unfortunately the lens is part of the entire back half of the mirror and can't be bought separately. I don't have the part # handy, but it cost between $80-$90 at a dealership. You may be able to find them cheaper on e-bay. To remove the back half there are 3 clips that have to to be pushed down. If you move the main mirror to one side and shine a flashlight behind it you'll see the clips. There are 2 on one side and 1 on the other. Be gentle when removing it and don't let it fall. There's a wiring plug that's connected to the amber lights.

I would try a local "junkyard". They will probably sell you the whole mirror for what the dealer would charge for the part. I have puchased rims, tail lights and other parts from them in the past. The larger yards are networked and if they don't have it they can get it fairly quickly.
