diffecrence in 99 and 01 turbo

I put a 4 inch exhuast and the 6637 filter on my early model 99. My dad has the same thing in his 01 with a chip and his turbo will whoosh and stall. Mine seems to have a flutter throughout the rpm's. I was just wondering what the difference is between the turbos to cause the noise difference. Also with the wicked wheel help with the fluttering or would it be better to stick with the stock intake wheel.

The early '99 has the same wheel as the WW stock, and the '01 doesn't. That's why the different noises.

So you get a wicked wheel from a ford dealer, on a early 99psd is that correct? Or is there a much better place to get them?

Well yes and no....

The early '99 turbo has the same STYLE intake wheel as the WW - but I don't think you want to go to the dealer asking them for one for your late '99-'03 truck either

There are lots of places that sell them, by different names too. I have heard - Banks wheel, Superior, Swisher, and Wicked Wheel - all the same thing.
