1986 Vacuum Problems
My 1986 Van has if I guess right a vacuum problem. It idles rough, stalls out and does not want to shift gears sometimes. Only misbehaves when it is warm. Problem is I do not know what I am looking for at at and the Chilton's and Haynes manuels do not do me any good. No diagrams. Can anyone out there help.

More than likely you'll have to pull the codes, if its an EFI engine...the problem you describe is too general and could be as simple as an Engine knock sensor or a throttle position sensor...or other small yet detailed problem....get a code reader if you don't already have one from any walmart in the auto area near the spark plugs (a digital is best) or you could get a multimeter and count the sweeps of the needle at the plug in near the battery. There are many posts about how to do this here. It costs too much to just throw parts at it and when you know what codes your're getting from the code reader, you'll know where and what to replace after you post the results here.
