I have a '75 F100 4x4 frame and have noticed a few differences compared to a '79 frame. The front crossmember under where the fan would be is different, with the '79 crossmember being angled down and sitting lower than the straighter '75 crossmember. Can I put a 351M into this frame without interference with the crossmember? Will the 351M engine stands from a '79 bolt in place of the 360 stands on the '75?
Also, the frame is boxed farther back on the '75 and is has cast iron radius arm mount brackets rather than stamped steel. Is any of this stronger than the other?
i put a 400m in a 75 f150 used the frame mount out of the 79 but had to drill some new holes. the engine sat up just a little higher in the front but worked really good.
