speedometer bolt size

speedometer bolt size
I have a 1965 F-100 short bed. 390 with a floor shifted 3 speed transmission. The bolt that holds the speedometer cable in the transmission vibrated out. I can't see the hole with the floor mounted shifter. Does anyone know what size bolt goes there. Thanks in advance.

What tranny? Does the bolt hold a tab? If it does it will likely be a 5/16 bolt 3/4 inch long.

I only know it's a 3 speed. And it does hold a tab. I'll try that size. thanks.

I think it is a 1/4"-20 x about 3/4" IIRC. Hope you got it!
