Hey,
I fixed one thing and I broke another.
I changed out a water pump on my 92 f 150.and I wasn't watching out and I heard a crack and popping sound as I was putting on the top radiator hose.
Now I got a small leak on the outlet,on the upper tank.
My Radiator has never been off the truck before,so I was thinking about getting the core clean out at a Radiator shop and the top tank replaced.
This should make the radiator like a brand new one right?
Haven't checked on the cost of repair, or the cost of a brand new Radiator.
Same thing happened to me. The plastic side tank gets brittle over time, and the plastic port snaps, or partially fractures, off the tank. You probably have a clean fracture hidden just under the end of the upper hose. Loosen the hose, pull it back one inch and inspect the plastic port.
I would recommend brand new radiator. Your cooling system should always be working perfectly and inspected and maintained regularly.
