Hi. I have a 98 B400 4x4 Xcab. I know where there is a low mileage 1993 351 AOD 4x4 that rolled once. It starts and you can drive it. I am thinking about throwing the whole engine and trans in my B4000. Question is: will the out put shaft on the 98 AOD line up with the front drive line on my truck? Is it on the same side?
If anyone has done this please email me with the do's and dont's
Mike do a search on V8 conversions here on FTE Ranger section. You will find alot of info already exists on this.
Personally , IMO your opening a can of worms trying to stuff the fullsize setup into the ranger. Especially into the 4X4 frame.
Email me and I'll give you more info to checkout.
P.S.: Welcome to FTE!
i wounder if any one has ever put a PSD into a ranger or b serise? that would be a sweet combo. the only problem would be how to keep the rear wheels on the ground.

The bigger problem would be having a diesel engine in the cab and living with that.
Though, with such a heavy front end, I can see the rears not staying grounded.
As for the OP and a 93 engine in a 98 truck, I would not do it. Stick with an OBD2 engine in that 98 truck. Like from a 98 HD truck. That 351 would fit, with little more work than a 302.
