ok i spent the whole day replaceing the fuel lifter and trying to prime the injectors. i cant get the fuel filter to stay full of fuel. where should i look now. should i go to a eletric pump instead of the motor mounted mechanicail pump? i need to get this truck running fast so any help would be apricaited. Thanks Brian
Assuming the lift pump went in correctly, (Its possible to install it and have the tang mis the cam lobe and it wont work). The lift pump should be ok. Take the filter back off fill it with clean fuel and reinstall the filter. Take both wires off the top of the injection pump (this will keep it from getting any more air into the pumping head). Loosen the fuel line comming off the top of the injection pump at the elbow. Crank engine untill clear fuel comes out from that line(all air is blead out) .Plug wires back on to injector pump loosen two or three injector lines at the injectors and crank engine, after a couple of cycles it should try to or it may start. Once you get to this point tighten the injectors back down and try to start the truck it should start at this point if not bleed at the injectors again. Once it starts keep it running with as much throttle as it takes untill it smothes out then the air will be out of the system. DO NOT CRANK THE STARTER FOR MORE THAN 10 TO 15 SECONDS AT A TIME OR YOU WILL FRY IT, LET IT COOL FOR FIVE TO TEN MINUTES BETWEEN CRANKING
i have replaced both sending units
all new stainless fuel line from ford with the correct fittings
new tank selector
replaced machanical lift pump with eletric fuel pump( i like how fast it can fill a filter)
tested all of the gps with an ohm metter
new injectors
new cross over tees and correct hose and hose clamps
new fuel water seperator
new starter (bet you can guess why)
vacume tested each line and the complet circute for any air leaks, not an one
pure fuel comming out of the shraeder valve no bubbles at all
checked the fuel shut off on the injector pump for proper function, no problems there
so i have fixed my air entering the fuel system problem,
now i cant get the pump to prime (i think) all i can get is a little bit of bubbles to come out of the top of the injectors and only four of them. the rest will not pass air or fuel. the truck wont even kick over on starting fluid and the block heateris pluged in pulling 11 amps and produceng enough heat to fire over but it wont.
so i am stumped can anyone sugeest somthing that i might have missed? thanks, Brian

Check and ensure the electric fuel pump is still pumping during the start sequence, have had members wire them so they work with ignition on, but quit on the start position.........thus no start.
Boy!! You're sure not haveing any luck. Pretty much all that is left is the pump. I had one that didn't want to start like that, but I had just put on a used pump that had sat around for years. It took a lot more cranking than I've ever done before to get this pump to start working but it finally worked. I cant think of any practical way to test the pump you usually do what you have done, replace everything else and if thats not it, suspect the pump. I can't think of anything you missed. If its not getting fuel to the cylinders it wont run on starting fluid! Its frustrating and everyone goes for the either when they get mad but it seldom works and many times makes things worse. If there is 12 volts at the pump and fuel pressure while cranking then it should bleed out and work if the pump is okay. Pumps do go bad but I haven't and no one here has posted a pump failure related to the symptems you originally posted.
Check this out even if it seems to me also that you have done everything right,it's normal that you should get just a small dribble of fuel and bubbles from the cracked injectors, can't see why it won't start?Have you tried giving it a squirt of wd40 to start it?
