I have a 74 f250, It has a granny low four speed with a 390 motor. I was driving it from a stop light in second gear when a loud bang happened and it popped out of gear. the clutch peadle went to the floor so I got it towed home. I just took it apart and nothin was visably wrong with the clutch and pressure plate. I then brought the transmision to the shop and asked him if he can take a look at it. He said he took it a part and there is nothin majorly wrong with it but the gears are warn a little. he said he suggests to replace second gear and the hub asssembly. It would be about 800-900 dollars any sujestings. also what kind of tranny is it. thanks
All the linkage is, is the rod from the pedel to the equalization bar and to the fork. I just replaced the plastic bushings in the eq bar they were pritty worn out. the eq bar was not broken, it was still in tack. how much is a C6, I saw them in PAW for about 900 nad that was a b&m with a shift kit. also if I do put an auto matic will I need to change the stearing colum or can I run the shifter up through the floor pan. I have a 3'' body lift on the truck.
