Hey guys I just bought a 1993 f-250 diesel. The truck is great and everything but one thing I need to try to get working is the power door locks. neighter side (driver or passengerside buttons work to lock or unlock the doors). Anyone have any ideas how to fix this problem? also how do you pull the cover off of the switches in the door panels? Just take the screw out of them and pull them off the door panel?
thanks,
Jimmy
hey i finaly started to look into the door locks on my truck and well clicked on the link and well it doesn't work i think you sent me the wrong link.
thanks,
Jimmy
PS Please let me know what you guys think what is wrong.
They run off a fuse. I had a similar problem on my 92 and found that the contacts were just corroded. I pull the switch out and cleaned it and it started working.
hey what fuse do the doorlocks run off of? also what else runs off of the same fuse? Everythign else in my truck works besides the doorlocks. I cant seem to beable to figure it out.
please let me know your opinions!
thanks
Jimmy
You should be able to tell this from the panel that opens to the fuses. I believe mine is on the same fuse as the hazards, but that may not be the exact same as yours. Check the chart on the back of the panel.

It does seem odd that both sides wouldn't be working. Do you know if the last owner had keyless entry? You might try cleaning one set of contacts to see if ti works (it doesn't take very long). If that doesn't work, then I would click on the link that Bob gave you below to see how I solved my initial problem.
