im rebuilding my 79 f150 and want to swap the automatic trans out for a standerd while ive got the motor out. im replacing the 351m with a 460 and dont know witch manual trans will work with my transfer case and bell housing . can any one helpp
If you have an automatic you have the wrong bell housing anyway, and you'd be better off finding a donor truck. your gonna need a bunch of little stuff like pedals, clutch linkage, cross members drive shafts, it gets costly if you try and buy everything individually.
The C6 attached to that 351M would fit if you were swapping it too, but since the bell-housing is part of the transmission (one piece unit) you will need to find a std transmission behind a 351M/400 or 460 to do the swap.
L and L products has complete kits that have everything you need . However they are a bit expensive . I'm doing the same swap in my 79 250 right now and it is alot ceaper to get a donor truck if you can find one.

They have ALMOST enerything you will need in the L and L kit. I don't think it has the linkages you will need to swap to a manual trans. I was able to keep my transfer case and just swap it over to the manual. I think you should be able to also. That way you don't have to get new yokes or different u-joints.
