I'm thinking about running some aux lights . Four Piaa 80 Racing which uses 90/135w H-4 bulbs .
I will also be using two Piaa wiring harness and switches .
I have the factory dual batteries and a single alternator .
Which battery do I hook these light up to ?
Am I going to draw to much current for the stock electrical system to handle ?
How about with 100/150w bulbs ?
From my experince in hooking up winches and 100W two-way radios, the radio and/or lights I would take to one battery. On equipment like the winch pulling heavy current I normaly connect to both batteries.
Your electrical system should certainly handle that wattage.
Assuming that this is a deisel, both battery are connected together so it should not matter where you make your connection. After installation, start the truck and check your battery voltage at idle with the lights and everything else on the you typically use, as long as you getting 13 volts or greater (greater would be good) you will be fine.
Thanks for the info .
Someone told me that on the diesels one battery was for the accessories and the other was for starting .
The Piaa harness kit comes with all the hardware needed . ie..relays..fuses....

Just hook it to the battery thats easiest to get to. There was a change in alt systems but I can't remember what year look in your owners manual it may tell you.
