2005 side emblem peeling

My 05 F-250 side emblem is starting to peel off. I was wondering if anyone that has the 05-06 models has experienced this. I had a 99 F-150 before and those side emblems had the F-150 emblem poked out and they were not painted. If anyone else has this issue what did you do about it? Would that be covered under the warranty or would most just consider it normal wear?

Take it back to the dealer. There were a bunch of them that weren't painted properly. The dealer will hook you up.

Happened to mine. Dealer replaced in about 15 minutes. Under warranty and no problem since.

Or you can acetone them and make them all chrome.

Thumbs down

I am on my second set and they are starting to peal also. I had no problems with my old truck. Ford really has cut corners sacrificing quality. The dealer blamed the car wash when they replaced my emblems. After they replaced my emblems under warentee what did they do they ran my truck through their automatic car wash. I am going to make them replace all my emblems again because they are pealing badly again.

emblem paint peeling

05,
My 2005 F-250 did the same exact thing, It started with the left one and then the right side. I brought it back to the dealer and they said mine was the first one that they saw with this problem. The emblems were replaced under warranty, No problem. By the way they are adhesive backed and not posts. Contact your dealer as they will replace them under warranty.

Noticed that the driver side and passenger side decals were peeling off. I called the dealership and they had to order some(took about 2 days). They called and I went in and they replaced them in about 10 minutes. That was about a month ago and have no problems since. I waiting for the one of the tailgate to start peeling.

I had my side ones replaced couple of months ago. The one on the tailgate looks new and doesn't appear to be peeling. I wonder if the one on the tailgate are made by a different line or something. I would think if the side ones peel so would the tailgate. My dealer ask if had tried to remove the paint, I said no and they replace them.

I just warrantied the 2 sides and tailgate emblem. Dealership said it wasn't that common. Then I started watching for other ford trucks. they were all bare to silver. I think people just don't worry about it and/or like it. I like it better with the black letters.

Can anyone else confirm that 05-06 do not have alignment pins and just stick there?. If so mine might fall off forever

My 2006 F-350's side emblems are also peeling, apparently Ford didn't do anything to correct the problem.

This is the standard answer to almost anything when you go to the dealer here. Even when you already know people that have gone to that same dealer for the exact same issue. Almost seems like they are trained to just tell the customers it is something never seen before so as to avoid tarnishing Ford's rep. That being said, this dealer is pretty good about fixing things well and in a timely fashion. Just seems to be a standard statement right out of the training manual!
