Help!!!!

Well I was driving to work this morning and my gear box spindle sheered in half. Luckly I was only going about 15mph when it happend or it could have gotten ugly. Now to my question...I have a f-350 psd 8" lift with 37" tires I know that puts alot of stress on the steering componets so should I just get a new steering box or should I get a steering box and a crossover steering kit? I would like to avoid this happening again. Also should I get a reman box or a new one? Does anyone know if this is a common occurence with lifted trucks or was this just a freak accident? I don't offroad much so I can't see this being because of abuse.

Any input or advise would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance
Nate

It should give you less stress on the steering components if you change to the crossover style. with the short drag link, it increases the the amount of force to turn the wheels at a stop or moving slowly.
