That would be your backup light. Optional equipment, or added by a previous owner. You can either remove them and avoid the problem 
or see if there is a reverse light switch, probably on the steering column around the shift linkage.

I don't think that Ford put back up lights on these trucks untill after 67, so I think that a PO swapped out the solid lens for a set of newer lens. Pull the lens out and see if there is a second light bulb in the housing for the back up light.
