A friend of mine used to have an 84 4x4 302. It was short cab, short bed. 2 tone blue white (white in middle, blue top and bottom).
In short I loved this truck and had plans to buy it from him 1 day (when it was economically smart for both of us). Make the story short, he rolled it. I would like to find the same truck somewhere.
How hard would it be to find this same truck?
I was lookin around on the internet and i saw a few 84s. None of them had a tach. Was this not an option in those years?
Does any one have a truck like this? If so I envy you. Wanna swap my 97 4x4 for it ?
Look for an XL or XLT. It should have a tach. If you do not want to deal with computerized junk, don't buy newer than 1983. Check the classifieds of your area newspapers online. Autotrader or truck Trader? If you really, REALLY want to get this model, and are willing to travel to get it, try the southwestern states. I live in Arizona, and these trucks are holding up quite well out here. Look at my gallery. I have not done any cosmetic work on this vehicle. No rust! Good luck in your search. I'll pass on the '97.
I used to own a 1983 F100, 300-i6, 3 on the tree. Except for the temperature gauge and gas gauge. Everything else was idiot lights. No tach either. What a great truck it was.
The '85 XLT that I own now has all the gauges and the tach. I thought that the XLT models came with the tach, evidentally from the other posts on this thread, I was mistaken. It was probably an option back in the '80's.
