Unhappy Did the grease monkey do wrong

I think the oil change place put in regular car 10w-40 type oil in our old 7.3L International truck. What will happen/has happened? Our laborer is playing dumb and won't say what his conversation was with the oil change guy. What are the possible problems with this and how "deadly" are they?

Thanks

i would say that their wont be "much" if any damage if you caught it early enough. id say just drain it totaly and fill with a good diesel oil like rotila T. i had a new guy almost do the same thing to my 99 7.3 but i caught him in time.

It won't damage it, but if you're going to work it hard, you will definitely want it out of there. If not, and you;re in a cold area, it won't hurt it. The main thing is that the thinner oil won't provide the same cushion that the heavier oil does, so I wouldn't work it too hard with that oil. Personally, I would just get it out, but I work my truck pretty hard. At least they put oil in....
