i got a rebuilt 351m and im thinking about switching it out for my 460. i kow the 460 is good but the gas mileage sucks. i pay about 25$ a day driving it. i was worndering about what you thought about the switch. the bell housings are the same im pretty sure because we pulled a 400 out and put the 460 in. we didnt change them

Actually, I doubt your gas mileage would be any worse with the 460. The 351m/400 engines aren't too good for gas mileage. I'd say go for the 460, it'll drop right in.

If I read your post right the 460 is already in there, if thats the case leave it, won't make enough differance in milage to be worth your time, and the loss in power will make you nuts.
