Advice For Your Edge
The *best* shift points are actually 5400 rpm for the 1-2 and the 2-3,and then 4700 rpm for the 3-4. That is what will get you the quickest acceleration without abusing the powertrain. Now if the torque converter was up to it long-term, a 5600 RPM 1-2 would be slightly quicker, but it's not a good idea to wing the stock TQ much beyond 5500 rpm on a frequent basis, so we recommend sticking to 5400 rpm for the 1-2 & 2-3,. and *never* more than 4700 for a 3-4 (at which pints you would be hitting 120 mph anyway), as the stock transmission is not going to like that - frankly, it's never a good idea to do full-throttle upshifts into Overdrive (4th gear), unless you have a complete performance-built transmission - the Overdrive band simply won't take it ling term, and you just don't have practical need for 120 MPH full-throttle 3-4 upshifts anyway, not on the street, and you'll never hit that in the 1/4 mile without a built motor and a blower or turbo with high boost (and I mean 600+ HP, figure 650 at the crank at that weight) and/or a lot of nitrous.
personally, i would keep my 1'st and 2'nd shifts around 5500, but no higher than 5600. also, i would probly recomend keeping your rev limiter to under 5800.
This is just some information i got off a resulted tuner, and if anyone else else has better information, let us know.
