I was wondering if anyone has done a 6 or 8 inch suspension lift. I am thinking about going either 6 or 8 but I would like to get some input from other people about how they like it. And what company would be the best to go with.
The DiscountPowerParts.com Excursion had 20k miles on it when we found it. It was at stock hight. As we started looking underneath the monster It looked like there had been some suspension mods done to it at some point. Larry called the previous owner to ask questions. It actually had 24" of lift and 44 " tires. Larry has pictures somewhere of it. Im sure as soon as he see's this post he will put it up. Put it this way the bottom of the mirrors where an inch over the owners head and he's like 5'11" or 6'. One day it will return to its former glory. hehe

I went with the donahoe racing 7'' lift. New springs, shocks, drop bracket for the track bar, and longer end links for the sway bar. The X rides great, I love it. Made enough room for 37x12.50 pj dirt grips mounted on 16x10's. DR racing has some smaller lifts also. Check them out www.donahoeracing.com . Do a search in the archives for (lifted the X this weekend). Has some more info on the lift from donahoe racing.
I made up an 8" kit out of ebay deals. Nixon performance in Salt Lake makes 5" brakets for the front. I put blocks and add-a-leafs in the back and brakets and add-a-leafs in the front. I think I have $400.00 in the whole thing. If you have good shocks you can rotate the rear brakets on the axle and only have to buy front ones. I run Goodyear MTR 37x12.50. Rides like stock. I also added a F350 dually sway bar from the wrecking yard. I made over the axle traction bars to ease the wandering with one 32nd more toe.
Yep, thats my baby right there! She is not so tall any longer, but she still looks just like that body-wise. Well, the cool snorkle hood stayed with the original owner as well.

He got an 05 Ex and put that suspension under the 05, and I got the 2000 with the stock 05 suspension. Its not exactly stock suspension now, but it has alot of growing to do yet~
I can help you with the hood, and have it painted to match prior to shipping. Shoot me an email/call if your interested. We can factory match anything you want.
