Code 33 (EGR not registering) on my e150

Hi, I have a 1988 E150 with a 5.0 EFI. I ran the computer codes yesterday and other than the system-pass code, only got a "EGR not registering" (either 22 or 33, can't remember). in any case, would this simply be a case of a bad position sensor or is it worth tearing apart the entire EGR and doing a full diagnosis.

I just had the same problem on my 95 f 150. I put a new egr and a egr position sensor on. But it turned out to be the egr vacuum selenoid. I don't know how different our trucks are, but check all these things. Easiest way I found to check Selenoid, is to wait until it suppose to open, best if done when you come back from a drive. Pull vacuum line of selenoid that goes to egr and see if you have a vacuum. If not than replace selenoid. if so replace egr and egr position sensor.
Like I said , not sure how different yours is to mine.
