Gear Interchangability

I have a 78 FF Dana 60 rear, and I need to swap to 4.10s to match my front axle. Can i use gears from a chevy or dodge dana 60?

if you are talking about using used gears, i would not do it. used gears are only as good as the person that set them up. if not setup properly, you will only be throwing away more money to replace them when they fail. i have found it is easier in the long run to just get a set of new gears and be done with it.

They will swap fine. Best way to do this though is to clean and "paint" the gearset if gears are still in the housing and check the pattern and backlash and record it and setup them up in your housing the exact same way. You are okay on carrier break unless you have a 4.56 in your truck now and in which case, you would need to change carrier too.
