I've pretty much decided on htis setup with no amp. I have a 2000 f150 extended cab and am going to replace the front speakers for sure. Some people have said not to do the rears because they are just for fill anyway. Is that right? vcan i save some bucks by only doing the fronts?

That is one you may have to use personal taste. I do change my rears, however I always put in lower grades than the front.
ie: In my 94 F150, my fronts were CDT ES-630's (at the time, $899). My rears were CDT EF-61's (got them on sale for $200!). Since people rarely sat in the back of my extended cab, I didn't care too much what they sounded like, but I knew they would take the power if I cranked it up.
