Question new guy with exhaust Question

Hi,
I have a 94 F-250 with a 7.3 N/A with automatic tranny that we are original owners.
The exhaust(original) is starting to come apart, and it's time for a new one.
The Question is ,will I be better with a new one that the two 2 1/4 pipes into a 3" and low restriction muffler and out over the axle into a 3" tail pipe, or two 2 1/2 pipes with an X pipe into two 2 1/2 low restriction mufflers and out over the axle with two 2 1/2 tail pipes all on the passinger side.
Thanks for your opinions.
Russ

Welcome to Ford Truck Enthusiasts russ&irene.

I doubt there will be much in the way of a difference between the two from a power or economy standpoint, but in my opinion the dual exhaust sounds better.

You have to come off the manifolds with 2.25" ID pipe to fit the clamps.
If both downpipes dump into a single 3" ID pipe you will be fine.
A see thru muffler will make the truck louder, but it will also run better.

Duals are hard to run because of the front fuel tank, it is right in the way.
