Truck Won't Start
OK, I was at a store and tried to start my truck (after only 3 minutes of turning it off) and it wouldn't catch. It was turning over just fine. So I tried again, it started. On the way home it would sometimes hesitate, not miss but like it wanted to completely shut down.
Has all the symptoms as if no spark is getting to the plugs. Just not sure where the problem is. While I was waiting for a tow I tested the pressure on the fuel rail by opening the valve, fuel shot out of there so there is good pressure. I also replaced the cap and rotor as I had a spare with me. Wasn't able to test yet, wasn't enough juice in the batt to turn over (I tried a few times after it stalled and drained the batt).
So, I looked in my Chilton's manual and am confused about testing the coil. Not sure if I have a duraspark II or III system and the testing procedures aren't 100% clear to me. I am sure someone out there can help with this.
I would appreciate any advice at this point, I am waiting for the battery to charge before I do any tests.
