Unhappy Performance Injectors

I know my truck isn't a mustang Gt but I have the superchip (set to high perf/ Tow) 3" Downpipe (4" rest of the way) and a Tymar-like air intake system. It's quick to get up to speed but when your cruisin and want to "get on it" it's a little less responsive. My question would be would Stage 2 Injectors help this?? Think I can get them for $1840 delivered. Has anyone done this?? Is it worth it? Can a diesel shop "tune" up my stock ones?? Thanks!!

1840 is a little high for stage 2's, beans diesel has them for 1250 + shipping. Yes stage 2's will wake your truck up big time, also if your tranny isnt up to par it will hurt it quick. A diesel shop prob cant make yours bigger, its not an easy deal and requires special tools for injector teardown and assembly. IMO if ya want a nice power upgrade that wont need a as many supporting mods, stage 1's will probably get you exactly what your wanting.

i would stick to a reputable performance injector builder its something that is easy to screw up. you can get into the 400rwhp range with the 2's you will have to have custom programming with aftermarket injectors your superchips will work but not get the full potential out of the injectors.

cool.. I've been reading around before I posted but didn't find the exact answer. My brother in law mentioned going to a diesel shop to have them "tuned". Guess my question was more.. Is there such a thing as "garaged tuned" injectors. But that took care of that.

yes there is but you gotta know what you are doing and have the SPECIAL TOOLS or make your own.

2 ways to do it.

#1 buy the plunger and barrel from an AC code injector. plus other stuff $440.00. not to mention new orings.
2.rip yours apart and have a machine shop take .100 off the intesifier piston. and then re assemble.....machine shop work and orings and tools =$$$$$$..

i was gonna do my own myself. even had purchased 9 spares to do it. in the end it was not cost effective and if something was not assembled right could be very bad for the motor. like and injector dumping to much.

in then end i made a deal with bean for a trade in on my cores.

I am going to buy some injectors from Beans.

http://www.beansdieselperformance.com

I am looking at the stage 1 injectors. ($675) With some minor mods you can get 340 hp and 750 lbs torque and these numbers are rear wheel numbers. Beans also sell some kits with all the goodies I talked with these guys on the phone a couple days ago, they told me it would put a smile on your face you couldnt wipe off. lol sounds pretty good. i pull a big horse trailer and have plenty of power but the newer trucks get me on the big hills. I want to blow some black smoke on their windshields.

Are you going with the reman or new ones?? Let me know what your turnaround time was. Thanks. Think I'll be going with the Stage 1's as well.
