I had a pull off last weekend with a chvey. he had a half ton short box. only good part on his truck is the 454 under the hood. it has perfomer intake and edelbrock carb.
Anyway i have 78 f150 with built 400. I also have detroit locker in rear. we pulled in 4x4. when the whistle blow he got the jump on me and pull me about 2 feet before i floored it. once i floor that 2 feet was recovered vary quick i pulled him about 25ft before i shifted into 2nd then i pull him another 15ft before i stoped. now i never have to hear about his 454 again. i think i won thanks to the locker thow.
That's cool that you won. Last summer at a local Mud Bash they had back to back pulls. A mid-80's Chevy was pulling with a mid-80's Ford, both trucks were built quite a bit. I thought for sure the Chevy would win, but the Ford took it on all 3 pulls. The Ford had a manual and the Chevy an auto, I wonder if that had any affect on the results?
