Jumping Speedometer
I've got '93 F-150 4x4 that runs great (considering I replaced both the engine and tranny). My problem is the speedometer. Once the truck gets moving around 15 or 20 mph, the spedometer starts to jump. It will vary sometimes from 1 or 2 mph at slow speeds to as much as 15 or 20 mph at higher speeds. The high end of the reading is the correct speed and nothing else is wrong. I am just wondering what is going on with it because when I look down at it, I see it jumping around. If anyone has suggestions as to what is going on and how it can be fixed, my ears are open.

I don't know if it would cause it to work that poorly but there is a capacitor that comes unsoldered on the back of the speedometer assembly. Do a search for "+PSOM +solder", it's talked about in one of those...
But if yours is that bad it's likely to be the sensor.
