Hi it's Tom from the land of cheese and (computer)mice.
My '93 3.0 has a problem with the vents that starts to be annoying. When I have the selector in "Vent" position and fully depress the accelarator the air will come out of the upper windshield vents only. Upon releasing the pedal, it comes back through the front vents again. I assume it's a vacuum problem. Before I start taking the dash apart and poking around (I'd start with checking the selector switch) I first would like to know if anyone had already experienced this problem to help me to fix this quickly.
There is a little valve in line leading to the vaccuum reservouar. If it is not OK, when you press pedal air comes into the reservouar and servo closes the vent. door. Check for other vacc. leakages. I had the similar problem. But I had to replace 2 hoses. That is all! Do not take all the dash apart. To see these lines just remove upper cover of instrumental cluster. You need to have very short philips scr.driver to remove 3 screws under the winshield. But do not hurry to do it!
