Brand New Two wire Alternator not charging Battey, I think the wire's are mixed up, But before I start taking it off, I would like to double check.
Any Help would be Appriciated.
You can take it to an auto parts store and they will mount it on their testing machine to tell you if it is working correctly. My alternators have all been three or one wire. Never heard of a two wire before. Do you have the battery wire hooked up correctly? Jag
I see the problem. The red wire comming out plastic plug should hook to the battery not to ground. You may just be able to hook it to the main red wire on the back of the alt. The black wire should be hooked throu a warning lamp than to the ignition switch at the run term.
Does one of the smaller wires go to a power source that turns on and off with the battery?
I belive that the red on coming out o the wilr loom goes to the ingnition, but I am not 100% sure I took pics and hooked it up like it was with the old Alt, but The post may be diffeent and no instructions came with.

So the red coming out of the plug then should be conected to the top post, and the other to the bottom?
