anybody got a jet performance chip?
Im debating on getting a chip and was wondering what people think of a jet performance chip. I know it requires like 93 oct gas but what would happen if i stuck with 89 oct. Does this chip eliminate the rev limiter (govenour)? Thanks

I'm using one on a 2004 FX4 (4 liter). It raises the rev limit a few hundred rpm, and stiffens the high rpm shifts. At low rpm (low load), the shifts occur at a slightly higher speed.
I'm running regular gas, and have no problems most of the time. It depends on your particular engine, amount of carbon deposits, outside temperature, load, etc.

Jet chips are very generic. the best chip for a ranger is BAMA CHIP, DOUG knows his stuff, when it comes to a ford. He can even do custum tunes for torque and mpg, plus hp. If the chip is doing it's job, when running lower octane gas, your engine should start pinging, due to advanced timming.
