What is the factory tint percentage on the rear windows and back window of our trucks? I want to get my front 2 windows tinted and want it to match the rears.
take it to a tint shop. They will match it for you perfectly. I have 30% tints on the front two, and they match the rest of the windows. Should not cost more than $40. Good luck
I am getting the front 2 windows done tomorrow and I was told that 20% is a perfect match, and thats what they are going to put on mine. So who actually knows??? I know that when my dad had the fronts tinted on his old truck (99 F350 SC DRW 4X4) they used 25% and it was a little lighter than the factory tint on the rears.
I have a 04 lariat s-crew and had the front two windows tinted to match the back. The tint guy told me he used 20%. Looks like a perfect match to me. Also remember that % in a lot of states is illegal and fines run high.Hope this helps. BWEP
I believe that here in MD the legal limit is 35%. I want mine to match and if that is 20% then so be it. The cops usually do not give the trucks a hard time about tint like they do with the modified cars.
Well, I just got back from the getting the windows done. It looks like a great match, with 20% put on. Here in Wisconsin tint on the front windows can legally only be 50%, my future bro-in-law is a WI State Trooper so he is going to be real pleaed next time I see him!!! My truck is an 04 F150 SC FX4
In Missouri the legal tint is 30% all around. (Some fool politian didn't realize the back windows on alot of vehicles from the factory is 20%). Anyway I got 20% up front and it matches perfectly.
place i went to said the rear was 20%, but the legal in the front here is 35, so i went with that up front. IMO, i wouldn't wanna be driving around at night with 20% on the front. Yea you can tell durring the day they are slightly lighter, but at night, you'd never know the diff.
