Which Turbo Timer?
I have found all kinds out there to choose from, but not a lot of information on them and diesel engines, mainly sport tuners.
Are there any that I should definately stay away from?
Is there any option that I just shouldn't live without?
I have a 2003 f-250 with Edge and Attitude Monitor......
I have not seen any "plug and play" harnesses for my truck, do they make them, or will I have to put it in manually? If so How complicated?
Thanks

You will probably spend less money on a remote start system, and have more functionality when you are done.

Just to let you know. I have been a tank mechanic for the army for the past 18 years, so mechanic`n I can do.....BUT when it comes to electric crap, I can't hook up the DVD player to the TV without doing some cussin`!
I have been wanting the remote starter for a while, I have heard so many bad stories about them! Heck I got enough troubles already, I don't need to ask for more!
Is there a place that can install it for me?

You would end up with 12 - 20 connections to make depending on what features your system has, and how many of those features you want to work. Seven of those are the "high current" circuits that deal with the ignition, starter, and accessory circuits. The rest are "low current" circuits for things like the parking lamps, horn, door locks, safety interlock switch under the hood, system ground, tach signal, and brake pedal switch. If you add an alarm system to the package, there will be more......
The biggest problem for me was working under the dash. I'm not as small, limber and flexible as I used to be and the Bi-Focals are a serious handicap
There are a lot of wires and connections to be made under the steering column. It gets crowded and is darn near impossible to make it a neat job. I worked and worked to make the install as neat as possible, and I'm not totally satisfied with that aspect, but I am not doing it over any more. It works fine and you won't see the messy wiring unless you stand on your head and look for it.Do lots of research first, make sure you have the proper wiring diagram for YOUR truck. Door lock acuators are powered differently for trucks with keyless entry than the trucks without keyless entry. ( NOTE: Keyless entry trucks are easier.) On the 6.0 diesels, you cannot use the wait to start signal, you just have to program a ten second delay in the starter to allow the glow plugs to do their thing. You can find copies of the Install manuals for the Ford Remote Starter on the Internet. Although not all of the connections will be identical, many will be and it will also help you find the wires in the truck. I say again, MAKE SURE YOU ARE USING THE CORRECT DIAGRAM FOR YOUR TRUCK. Make copies of the wiring diagram for your starter and make notes on the paper as to what wires get connected to what color and what location. Plan your work ahead to make life easier. Allow plenty of time to do the job, and if you have a buddy who likes to help with that kind of stuff, have him there. You'll need someone to cuss at when you are stuck upside down under the dash and just can't get your hands wher you want them.
Finally be prepared to make minor changes to your plan when you find things don't fit just like you thought they would.....
