Hi fellas...I'm going to be sending my 03 into the dealership in the near future for some warrenty work. It involes an oil leak near the Turbo which some of you have mentioned that it most likely is O-rings but could be something else in that area. I also am going to have them look at the EBP valve as I'm not real happy with how it works when the engine is in a cold weather climite and not been warmed up throughly(step on pedal and it just won't pick up speed).
Before I take it in, should I remove the SuperChips program and bring it back to stock? I know by using the code checker part of the SuperChip that there is a code of PO478... EXHAUST PRESSURE CTRL VALVE HIGH INPUT. Should I mention this or see if they find it? Not real sure how I'd tell them this because they would suspect I have had a program in it.
One last thing....this code that is showing...could this be related to the problem I mention above?
yes most defanitely, return it to stock. give them no reason to deny service because of the leak. they can and will try do deny waranty work because something along the line that the tuner increased oil pressure and that caused a leak (which is false).
don't erase the code, because that can be valuable for them, to diagnose the problem. yes the code is probaby from the problem you describe.
With your EBV not opening, and the code you have - I'd guess you have a bad/malfunctioning Exhaust Back Pressure sensor, or the tube is clogged running to it.

YES VERY TRUE!! Ford will deny warranty for any and all reasons that they can get away with. I found this out, I just hope they don't screw you over too!!
