discharging problem

If my truck sits for more than a day the battery goes dead. My thoughts are that someting is drainging the battery, i have replaced all other charging compenents. All i have hooked up to the battery itself is my radio, which i took the faceplate off so it wouldn't be on and then i have my electronic choke hooked up as well, is it possible that the carb is draining my battery?

If it's an FORD choke it should be attached to the stator terminal of the alternator.

Here's a tech article to help you out .

Sounds like a bad battery to me. I just went through the same thing, with a brand new one, exchanged it and haven't had a problem since. While I was in there, I wire-brushed all my connection points, especially the grounds, replaced the cables, and used dielectric grease on all connections. There's always the possibility that one of the components you replaced is defective, I've had that happen once or twice. Easy enough to have them checked at the parts store. Just a thought-Pete.

disconnect the battery when you leave it and see if it still goes dead, that will eliminate the truck and make it a bad battery.
