What are the procedures in changing out the shifter cable guide for a F-150 Column shift on a 1997 P.U. ? Mine went out and I am trying to do a " do it yourselfer " job. Seems not to be to difficult of a task but I am not sure. I am mechanically inclined with basic standard and metric tools. Does this type of replacement involve pulling the steering wheel and going into the steering column ? Just a few heads up before I dig in.
Please !
Thanks.
After keying I realized that this is a Tech Question and I accidently placed it here. SORRY. THis is my first time at this.

I am just a homeowner that is playing to be a shade tree mechanic. I am mostly into small engine repair but I try to tackle it all by doing the work my self. Being tight on funds and only one income, I decided to take on the task of trying to replace this cable. Any comments ?
