Folding mirrors

Does anyone know if it's possible to replace the mirrors on the F150 Lariat (lighted, heated, power), with the lighted, heated, power folding mirrors from the King Ranch? I would guess the wiring harness is the same. Is it just a simple swap out. If so, does anyone know where I can buy them? The dealer was not much help. Thanks.

Lightbulb Can be done, but...

Yes you can do it, however you will need both mirrors, a new switch (for power fold function) and a power folding mirror module. You would need to obtain at a minimum the wiring pigtail for the power folding mirror module and you would need the pins for the mirror and switch connectors. You need to add 5 wires to the vehicle that probably are not present on anything other than a HD or KR truck. Sounds expensive....

This may sound expensive but I too have considered this idea. I'd need the folding mirrors to get into the single door garage in order for me to consider getting a F-150 or Expedition. The only options are spend extra $ for new mirrors or extra $$$ and get a King Ranch. The jury is still out because I still have 1-2 months until it's time to make the new vehicle decision.

I have no problem rolling down the window and folding in my driver side mirror to get my truck through a single car door. Just a thought.

Does anyone have an idea of what's involved in removing the mirrors?I would imagine you would pop off the interior trim piece(triangle shaped) and there should be a few nuts to remove is this about right or is there more to it?

Sounds like it's possible. Maybe I should check with a few different dealer's to see how much $$ it will cost. I think the switch is already in place, but it sounds a little complex without a service manual.
Thanks, Howman

Don't be sure about the switch, the power fold function operates only with the switch in the off or mid position. I am fairly certain it will be different for a power folder.
