Oil in boost tubes..??? Is the cause of a leaky tubo pedestal "O" Ring.. Can I upgrade to the wicked wheel and just install new "O" Rings.. Will this fix the problem??? Thanks
It's from the CCV (crankcase ventilation). Do a CCV search and get a comfortable chair. It's normal. Alot on here have done the CCV mod, which you'll become quite familiar with when you do the search. Hope this helps.
I am one of the few that does not have the CCV mod. I pulled my intercooler and up-pipe to see how much actually builds up. I filled the IC with MEK and shook the living life out of it for 30 minutes or so. When I poured it out, it was as clean as when I put it in. Now as far as the boots getting dirty on the "boost tubes", you have to consider theat there is a heck of alot more dust in your engine bay than in your engine. Oil attracts the dust and voila! The CCV puts out a pretty good amount of vapor and it will find a way out if not through your tail pipe.

Not another one that found that website................
You know what Chuck's responce was when asked about it? "Boys will be boys". He could have been talking about us and our mods.
Oh yeah, post related. This is a common occurance on Jeep Liberty CRDs as well - oil collecting in the IC tubes. I wonder if this happens with all IC diesels?
