engine swap
I have a 390 in my 78 ranger the motor is punched 60 over with race heads I have a knock at half throttle and cant figure it out. I have another 78 xlt with a 400 in it. I want to put the 400 in my ranger but dont know what all is interchangable between the two. the 400 is bare stock motor and the 390 doesnt like to run unless you got your foot pushing to the floor I want a truck I can drive . I drive the ranger to work and around every day but that motor is way to much for a daily driver and it is 30 years old since it has been built it is nearing it lifes end sort of speak lol any input would be helpful. O yeah my ranger oringally came out with a 400 so I am kinda keen to it.
