Torque Sequence?

Is there a sequence for tightening the main bearing caps? I have found some torque specs - ~100ft/lbs, but I can't seem to find an order. Do I start in the middle and work out, outside to in, or does it matter?

I don't believe it really matters that I have ever seen anywhere but I always start with the center or #3 and work out.

Something else you might do is only tighten the caps to about half specs, then come back and torque to full specs.

Just something I do...

I agree, myself I tighten in 3-4 steps even steps, depending what the final torque is.
