THANKS FOR THE INFO! I appreciate it. I am about to try and get that thing back in there now. This is one of those things you do not want to do half ***, so I really appreciate the replies.

I have always gotten a new gasket and lock ring personally.
NAPA has them: http://www.napaonline.com/masterpage...Tank+Lock+Ring
This only shows the lock ring but I was fairly sure that when I went and bought this they had the ring and a gasket in a plastic bag.
But the original gasket is probably OK?
