washer doesn't work

My truck is a 1990 F150 4wd, short bed, 5.0L, around 88k miles. It is all stock except for tires. I bought it about 100 miles ago(couple weeks). I'm fixing all the stuff one by one.
The wipers work fine, low-high-inter. The washer feature doesn't work at all. Where do I start? It could be clogged up I guess or the pump may be bad. I figured this was the forum since wiring problems are so common. Any help welcome.

If you have a meter or testlight, you can pull the wire off the pump at the bottom of the resevoir, and see if you have voltage when you activate the washer. If you can hear or feel the pump run, then you may be correct, it may be clogged, usually at the small orifice of the nozzles at the windshield. You could check that by pulling the rubber lines off and see if you have water with the lines loose.

Good call. The wires tend to rot out.

I am thinking that may be whats wrong with my washer system. I can unclog the nozzles, and they work for a couple of squirts, and then clog again. It might be rubber bits from the disentigrating lines clogging up the nozzles.
