DIY OBDII Reflash Software
Instead of getting a reprogrammer, how can I find software to allow me to hook my laptop up to my DLC and flash my own parameters into the ECU? Is there anyone with this type of software? I have a spare ECU I'd like to experiment with, especially to adjust the OBDII fault parameters for certain DTCs or to get the ECU to just register all OBDII tests as run and passed, for when I go to the smog station. I don't want the thing to not communicate any problems to me, because I like to keep it running right,but it'd be nice to have a little "insurance policy" in case I should have a sudden hiccup right arround smog time, just so I could get it smogged with the doctored ECU, then reinstall the original ECU and properly diagnose and repair the problem. Also, being able to adjust things like the rev limiter and speed limiter would be nice, but I am sure that I won't be able to "adjust" the OBDII fault parameters with a conventional programmer.
