Does anyone know of a sight online that I can go to find pics or a microfiche of the steering setups on 67's and up? I have access to a power steering box off of an early 70's pickup and some other things as well. It has been awhile since I have worked on these models and I can't remember how the steering actually worked on my '67.
Go to your local auto parts store that still has catalogs (napa) Ask to see the older car and truck Moog Chassis Parts book. It has exploded parts pictures with part numbers. Same part number,,fits, different number,,no fit.. Hope this helps...good luck hunting DAHMER
Thanks guys, What I am after is where does the steering box go on the '67? In front or behind the engine crossmember? I am picking up the truck today but it doesn't have the gear box and the guy that I am getting it from has the power unit but it mounted behind the crossmember. I just want to make sure before I buy something that isn't going to work. He says it will work but I'm not positive yet.
Scott, There is only one set of three in a triangle holes on the chassis for the gear to fit. I think it is behind the member with the pitman pointing forward.
If you get a power gear you will have to have a power column to match.

On another web site it stated that you only have to loosen the bolts under the dash that hold the steering collum, and the lower pinch bolt, then pull the collum up as needed to connect to the p/s box. The wheel will be 2 or 3 inches closer to you, (and rubbing on my beer belly, I am 6 feet 2, 285lbs). Anybody know for sure? May be worth a try (if you are skinny enough) and don't mind a NASCAR style wheel. DAHMER
