Okay here is another one for you all knowing PSD enthusiasts. When I have my travel trailer plugged in or the flatbed trailer plugged in, sometimes my truck dies when I step on the brakes. So I'm thinking it has something to do with the brake controller but can't think of why it would stall the truck. It doesn't do it all the time and will start right back up. It does it in gear. I don't think it has done it in park. I also noticed if the controller is turned up it seems to do it a little more often. It only does it when I have a trailer with brakes plugged in. With no trailer it never does it. That a good one huh? Think about that one and let me know all your ideas. Thanks guys! You guys have been right on the money everytime. THANK YOU!
The truck is no good. It is trash. Give me your address and I will come get it out of your way. It cannot be fixed.
Actually: Did it do this since the controller was put in, or was it right at one time and just started happening?
Since it does it with two trailers it is either your controller or wiring or the plug. Check and make sure everything is hooked up right. Then check the voltages at the rear plug with and without brakes on. And check with the controller turned up and down. If no body here has any more info you might want to check in the towing forum. The gurus there are pretty smart about wiring and such. Also Franklin in the electrical forum might know something. Good luck with it.
