I went in today and the Flathead Ford V8 is still there, shining, all cleaned up and looking good. Now a Flathead is a rare sight. there were business cards on this engine from a place called Tired Iron Automotive in Clavet. I had never heard of them before, does sound interesting. They do vintage auto consignment, sales and locating vintage tin, ect. I will have to drop in and check them out.
We will see, maybe they are more organized than I am. Anyway it they are close enough and if I get there then I can find out what`s there. There used to be a small wrecker along #16 Hiway just before Clavet where I got a pair of 71 Torino GT tail lites from afew years ago. This reminds me about a 77 F150 for sale cheap near there.
It`s no prize from what I remember as it is mostly a parts truck. It has sat for afew (?) years, is a dark shade of blue and is complete with a decent w/s. I needed one for my 69 and at that time he wouldn`t sell it. I bought a new w/s and NOW he decides to get sell. Ain`t life grand at times?
Fomoko I think that place tired iron is at the gas station. Did they not use to have a bit of a used car lot there. I remeber there use to be a building there in the trees and they tore it down and started a bit of a car lot there. I think the guy works out of his home and brings stuff to sell at the lot. This is not for sure. It has been 8 years since I lived out that way in Bradwell.
I like the new princess auto. It is better lit up and you can see more stuff. I like the one corner where they will let you test the welders they have for sale. It is in the back corner and has a curtain around it. They have all these welders in there for you to sample with to help them make a sale.
It is roomier and I will probally be making more stops there now. The other location was a pain to find parking and then try and cross ave C there was risky.
The new Princess Auto store is great but the best thing is you don`t have to inherit a parking space. Like 66gpw mentioned as well as Ave.C is rite on the money, it was a war zone. The old store was ok, I knew where everything was. Now I have to do alittle more hunting as there is alot more stock in the new store.
Don`t think the Clavet Esso`s property next door is Tired Iron but it maybe. It looked like a consignment lot with today`s vehicles so I will take a closer look soon.
