I have owned my (Used F-150) for about 9 months (Love it by the way)
But I have noticed a leak towards the back of the motor. I actually saw the leak as I turned the motor on.
I am think this maybe could be condensation but cannot confirm.
My question is this:
When I turn on my defrost or panel or floor switch (for heat or AC) no matter what I have it on hot or cold, there is always this discharge of what sounds like air when I turn it to off. My past vehicles only made this sound when I turn off the AC. since my f150 has no such switch, why does it do this? Is the AC technically always on whether I am heating or cooling the vehicle?
When you have it on defrost/ Def. Floor/or floor & panel, the it runs the compressor. That's the sound, I can't say what the leak is. I dare say if it's clear watery stuff, it is condensation.

Thats one he!! of a trick!!! Do you routinly lean out of your truck while you are starting it up? What transmission do you have? Could be oil (rear seal) or if you have an auto. it could be trans. fluid and I dont have any idea where or what it would be leaking from. Good luck though.
noticed a small puddle of water underneath the truck... looked more like water than oil.
started it up and saw that it was leaking something. one drip every couple of seconds. My first instict was this looked liked a leak when you have the AC on. It was set to defrost (compressor turned on) Temp was set to warm.
Does condensation build up when the compressor is on?

I plan on sticking a pan under there to see what the hell it is.
