how much do you think that this new enigne is gonna be able to produce after a couple of turbo swaps, larger injectors, programmers, etc.? and what rpm do think that it will be able to take?
no joke. We don't even have any baseline info to go off of yet. The only semi-solid info any of us have is it's a 6.4L, its got twin turbos, and last I checked, they still haven't figured out if its an I6 or a V8! I'm not tryin to be a jerk, if thats how this reads, but come on. We gotta know what it does stock before we can even begin to determine what it can do tuned. And none of us will know until almighty FORD tells us.
It is going to be a v8 I stated that in another thread. Also if what I heard from my ford instructeris correct you are not going to want to modify these trucks because the uderhood temps are going to be at max stock once you modify anything they will increase and start wrecking stuff.
Mnf350 ..."uderhood temps are going to be at max stock" is not what I wanted to hear .... whenever something is built to "max" , there is no room for contingencies ... it was over 100 degrees in the hills of Southern NV last summer pulling a camper and my 6.0 , totally stock , was over-heating and I had to back her off ....
thanks for all of the replies. i was just wondering because i am thinking fo building up a diesl truck for road racing, kind of like banks is doing but not as high tech, and was wondering if i should wait on the new6.4l and see what it could do or go with a cummings.
sorry, it was late and a couple of beers had been killed. either way the point still stands that if this new engine that ford is bringing out is already maxed out in terms of pwer and torque production then why are they even bringing it out other than to meet emmissions. not saying that i don't want one, ford is 20 times the truck a dodge could ever hope to be.

I totally love my stroke, but I can't knock a cummins. It's not the motor we have a problem with, it's the crap it's wraped in. One of my friends at work who has a 12v always makes me sick by saying "Should I get those injectors?" To which I reply if you don't your a FOOL!! A bad *** set of injectors for his cummins...$400. That pisses me off. And truth be known, I can't beat him now! That pisses me off too. But, I did have to put his truck on my gooseneck and haul him home last week.
