I'm thinking about putting a billet grille in. This is on my 99. It would be a full billet grille and elimate the middle horizontal bar. My idea is, would be to add off road lights behind the grill. I want to get some extra lighting, but I want it concealed (this is a 4X2). Has anyone done this? I was planning on getting 2-6" PIAA lights and putting them on for stellar road lighting. I will never be off-road, I would just like to use them for extra lighting. (I'm kinda dissapointed with my distance as it is)
I had a full billet grill on my '99 and it looked good. Those close billet bars will defuse your light output considerably. I have 6 driving lights on the front of my '04 (see gallery) that give me additional light when needed. I elected to use 55W lamps to keep street legal.

frdrngrlvr, do you have any pics of your truck? I checked your gallery and no pictures came up. I'd like to have great lighting. Since your truck's the same body style, I'd like to know your secret. Btw, very nice truck dono.
unfortunately i do not at the time. i just bought my wife a digital camera for her b-day so i should have some pics soon. just to let you know my ranger has all the stock lighting with the exception of the clear corners, no aftermarket foggers or anything yet. i do believe my fog lights are bright as heck and cut through fog unbelievably. its funny, when i'm behind someone in a car they always have to adjust the rear-view mirror so their not getting blinded!
I've got clear corners as well. I like them They definitely add a custom look to it. My corners are black. Not covers, but actually black. Got 'em off eBay. Really sharp. Gives it some individuality.
i do like the clear corners. i've seen the black ones and their cool to. they would've looked pretty good on mine since it to is black but the clears that i obtained match really well with the oem headlights and the foggers. they almost look like their factory and i got them for $30 bucks off ebay with shipping, not bad. only thing is their import and probably not very strong so if a rock kicks up they made crack or even a larger bug. lol! we'll see.
This just came to me... Cut the grille. Cut out the holes for the lights. That'd kinda be like the new GTs. I'm not as excited about cutting it, but you can always make the hole too small, but you can't do too big. *sigh* Another idea to the garbage can, lol.
why not go to the bone-yard and pick up a lower valance that accomodates fog lights? i've heard and seen guys do this and it works out fairly well for them. i just looked at your gallery, cool lil truck you got. you may even be better off buying the whole bumper with the foggers from say a 2000 4wd xlt like mine.

That's actually a great idea! My front bumper was pushed in a little bit from a minor collision(from the previous owner). I am definitely going to look into that! All I would need after that is the bezel deal that goes around the radio to accomodate the foglight button. I could probably get that off the same truck! I don't have 4x4, so I might have to figure out something else. Thanks for the idea.
no problem. it really shouldn't be that bad a job. you could probably just use a toggle switch of some sort under the dash instead of getting another bezel. and actually if you did want to go your route, the 2wd of '00 also had the foglights with the same valance as the 4wd but it was on a certain trim line like the sport or just the ext. cab xlt. my wife has the '00 trailhead reg. cab 2wd and also has the foggers. so you might have it easy to find the bezel without the 4wd switch cut into it. good luck! the bumper holes should be in the same loc. and just wire the foggers in with the running lights, that could be easier.
