i have a 97 psd that died going down the road. i have had all wireing replaced 4mths ago, when i lost idms. i checked codes and found only exhaust press. and idm failure. so i replace idm and still same code and wont start. please help
I have a 95 and the same thing happened to me. the wires going to the kill solenoid had gotten soaked with diesel and the insulation had split and let the wires touch just enough to short so the solenoid would not open or close (which ever it is supposed to do i really don't know). when i replaced the wires it started right up again. i could also move those wires around some before i replaced them and it would start and run until vibration brought them back together. hope this helps.
i have just checked that and they were melted to gether but not touching wire but i will replace it now anyway just to make sure i dident miss anything, thanks.

{just woundering if any one could tell me why that would give me a idm failure code}
